My 5 Item Wardrobe Refresh Strategy

August 4, 2020

Every season I feel like I just need a wardrobe refresh. I have plenty of seasonal clothes however, just like the seasons my body changes and so do trends. I may have donated a dress I thought I did not even need anymore or ruined one of my tops etc.

I have a strategy for shopping and refreshing my wardrobe every season with just 5 items. Of course when I am out I may see things I love I may buy that item BUT this is for when I get that beginning of season itch to go on a shopping spree. It is like a budget shopping spree. It is my 5 item, 5 outfit wardrobe refresh.

Here is my strategy
1 one piece item like a dress, romper or jumpsuit
2 versatile tops that can be worn with multiple bottoms
2 versatile bottoms

Here is my shopping list from the Nordstrom Sale.

5 pieces. 5 outfits for $293.50 (before tax) Which is basically $59 per outfit (shoes and accessories not included)

If you are an extreme bargain shopper I have also made an H&M list.

This list is $98.95 before taxes. Which is like $19.79 per outfit. H&M always has discounts available. Like if you donate an old bag of clothes they give you 15% off I am also a plus member which gives me an additional discount.

Shoes can also change an outfit which will help you get more bang for your buck and move your outfit to a different season. Another word of advice I have is the more neutral the better BUT always invest in one piece that is a season trend. Personally it makes me feel more confident and fun.
